APITech’s EMC Technologist, Ed Sveda, joined a panel of EMC thought leaders on April 6th at EMC Live to share crucial insights, success stories, and solutions for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing.

EMC Live

During the EMC Live Event, hosted by Interference Technology magazine, Sveda showed how having an in-house, state-of-the-art EMC and environmental test proficiencies laboratory is the industry's biggest and best tool. His presentation is available here: https://info.apitech.com/emc-testing#presentation

APITech offers an in-house EMC lab with a semi-anechoic chamber at its Fairview manufacturing facility. This gives our customers a flexible resource to assist in product development by identifying and correcting electromagnetic interference (EMI) susceptibility and/or emission problems.

APITech also manufactures the broadest line of EMI filtering products in the industry and knows how to effectively implement those products to ensure our customers meet their system-level EMC requirements.

APITech will evaluate and will tune installed filter performance to find a solution for unique requirements.

Ed also reviewed several successful case studies, revealing how the EMC test lab helps OEMs become more efficient, and deliver better outcomes. He laid out the many challenges, such as conducted and radiated emissions, and he highlighted design considerations, including time and space constraints, application standards, and equipment.

Ed then took attendees through the timeline of these successful projects, starting with initial testing, to the EMI filtering solution with design verification, to sample prototypes and production.
